Amateur Radio Expedition – Ghana 2017 – 9G5W
From November 20th – 30th, 2017, the team 9G5W is planning an amateur radio expedition to an exotic coastal West African State: the Republic of Ghana.
The Radio license is already issued and valid until July.2027.
The main goal of the expedition is to compete in the world’s biggest contest on the short wave frequencies (CQ WW DX CW Contest). Before and after the contest, the team also wants to contact as many amateur radio operators worldwide as possible and in different modes of communication.Operation and will be focused for LowBands.
The team was informed that there may be some problems with electrical power on the expedition; therefore, we decided to raise funds in order to buy a generator. After the expedition, the generator shall be donated to the Langma area, Kokrobite, where our activities will take place. Kokrobite is a town along the Atlantic coast with 4,000 to 6,000 residents located 30 km west of Accra, the capital of Ghana. It is especially known for its traditional sea fishing and white sand beaches.
The expedition will be funded by the team’s members; however, the team cannot cover the expenses for the technical equipment purchases. For that reason, 9G5W kindly asks you for your financial or material support.
In exchange for your help, the team would offer you a possibility of advertising the logo of your company, club or organization on the website https://www.ghana.si as well as on the QSL cards that would be given to every amateur radio operator who will make a contact with 9G5W. Moreover, the expedition will be presented on many web portals where our sponsors and donors will be listed as well. The team looks forward to cooperate with you and thanks you in advance.
